Swimming
Swimming for fitness or competition is fun. Learning to swim well also plays a major role in safety, with so many of our Australian cities located on or near coastal beaches. This helps shape Australia as one of the strongest swimming nations in the world.
The state of the art facilities at Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre provides the ultimate swimming destination with a 50 metre heated outdoor pool and 25 metre heated indoor pool.

Australia loves to Swim and we know how hard it can be to get a lap lane when you most want to.
Macquarie University Sport & Aquatic Centre guarantees that we will maintain a minimum of 3 lap swimming lanes no matter what the time of day. We are committed to update you, our customers, on what is available and at most times we will offer you an ample choice of lanes in either the outdoor 50m or indoor 25m lanes.
Our 50m pool temperature is kept in a comfortable range between 26 and 27 degrees, whilst our 25m Pool is a warmer 29-30 degrees.

- To our swimmers by recognising their goals, using varied programs and fun & flexible delivery methods. Our swimmers are our members. We aim to teach them life skills.
- To the parents of our swimmers by teaching them fun and safe ways to teach their children. We will provide parent inductions and workshops, make their experiences with us 'hassle free' and won't charge them to watch their kids swim. We help enrich their relationship with their children.
- To our instructors by providing a certified training, induction and mentoring program that provides a real pathway. We will teach them a new way of thinking, then listen to their ideas
